Looks Like The Democrats Have Decided Who They Don't Want To Run Against...
DGA unleashes new attack ads on Pete Snyder just days before the RPV Convention
I don’t understand the Democrats.
One of the things that Democrats claim to value — at least, when they are out of power — is the ability to work across the aisle. That is, before they absolutely slam us with unconstitutional power grabs when they are in power.
The Democratic Governor’s Association (DGA) doesn’t seem terribly concerned about whether any of Terry McAuliffe’s progressive challengers might seriously threaten his coronation ceremony in June.
All hail Harry Flood Byrd and his machine, I suppose.
Which means that DGA does have the chance to target one of the Republican gubernatorial nominees for destruction, ostensibly the one they are least likely to want to face in an upcoming election.
Today, the Democratic Governors Association is launching TwoSidedSnyder.com, a new website to reveal Republican candidate for governor Pete Snyder’s true record as a longtime member of the Washington establishment and shady party insider, as he dishonestly tries to run from his record in the Virginia GOP’s far-right race to be the most like Donald Trump.Â
Of course, DGA doesn’t target Snyder for anything far right.
Snyder’s sins?
Snyder praised the Clinton’s as political operators (aren’t they?),
Snyder donated $130,000 to Republicans (that’s good, right?),
Snyder understands how Washington works and how campaigns are wrong (shock! horror!)
Most damnable of all? Snyder’s 30-Day Fund helped so many small businesses that his initial estimate of $50,000 for a month of work turned out to be way too small after Northam crippled the Virginia economy for an entire year.
In short, here we have a guy who is a political realist, a conservative who donates to Republicans, and who actually gave the economy boots and spurs while Northam was saddling it with COVID restrictions — few of which had any links to scientific necessity which cost Virginia families billions of dollars.
You guys will have to forgive me for dual e-mails this afternoon.
But seriously?
What a whiny, petulant, stupid waste of money on DGA’s part to try to play in a Republican nomination method.
See y’all in November.
